Homeschooling by the Numbers: An Infographic
Have you been looking for a quick way to communicate the fact that homeschooling works? This well-designed infographic provides the statistical evidence you need to scare your neighbors support your decision to homeschool.
For me, the biggest takeaway of this infographic is the fact that it’s homeschoolers in general who are succeeding– not just students who use a certain curriculum or study in a certain way. This means that parents are free to treat students as individuals and to use living books or a curriculum that fits, rather than trying to recreate an institutional-style school at home.
Of course, these statistics don’t mean that all students who are educated at home will outscore all students who attend institutional schools. They don’t mean that homeschoolers are perfect or will have problem-free school experiences. What the infographic shows is that homeschooling can be an effective means of learning, and that’s a good thing.

Good one!
The homeschoolers have decided to take possession of the word “weird”. And while I am OK with this and I have blogged on it several times, I would have to say that ALL people are weird in their own ways…particularly KIDS! And YAY for that!
Peace, Karen
Honestly, can you imagine anything more boring than a world full of statistically average people? Mark Twain is reported to have said, “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” More like RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, if you ask me!
